I find playing the role of human mic stand during the legal vow component of your ceremony highly amusing. It’s the bit I’m right there to make sure you speak it correctly. Oh and if you hadn’t noticed, I’m the perfect height for it.⠀

Today I finally cancelled our annual winter escape to Bali and it devastates me to think about how long it’s going to be before the island of the gods has the steady flow of tourists again to keep it running and keep the beautiful locals in a job to support their families.⠀

How long it will be before we get to reconnect with our Bali family.⠀

How long it will be before the incredible wedding and events industry get back doing what they love for so many.⠀
⠀
And whilst I understand this is a situation that Australia and the entire world are all facing, Bali and the Bali people hold an extra special place in my heart.⠀

Oh how I yearn to feel that familiar warmth on my face. ⠀

Today in addition to stating the obvious that we are all missing our mumma’s during this crazy time, I want to particularly acknowledge the ‘Bride Mums.’ ⠀

I take my hat off to the Bride Mums, as on their big day, in addition to the excitement or anxiety of getting themselves ready, throw in getting their kid/s ready, throw in the tantrums and testing moments, and throw in the natural reaction and instinct of always putting their children’s happiness before their own - because that’s what us mumma’s do. ⠀⠀
